The General Practitioners' Asthma Group (GPAG) is a group of GPs with a special interest in asthma and a committee of the National Asthma Campaign. The executive committee consists of 13 GPs from around the country, but the wider soup now numbers over 300 GPs. Many are involved in asthma projects or asthma clinics in general practice. Some 90 of them are GPAG Asthma Liaison Officers for their Division of General Practice, acting as foci for local asthma activities and passing information on asthma to and from their Division.

The GPAG committee acts as an advisory panel to the National Asthma Campaign on general practice issues, and also develops and implements various general practice initiatives for the NAC. These include developing and running GP research studies in asthma, developing resources and practical support materials for GPs, and presenting workshops and seminars at national GP conferences. These activities are outlined in our quarterly bulletin (see links), which goes out to the Divisions.
