The activities of the ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM are based on a good interaction between professional assistance by physicians and volunteers of patients support groups. The activities of the ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM are situated in the Flanders and in the Dutch language.
At several places the ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM organises breathing exercises, physical education and swimming lessons for adults, children and teenagers. Yearly the ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM organises sports holidays for children and teenagers.
Every second year the ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM organises an 'Open-door for Asthma and Allergies patients' and a conference for health-workers, medical students and interested people. The ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM also organises training-sessions for nurses, physiotherapists in several hospitals. The ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM helps medical students with their reports about asthma, COPD and Allergy. The ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM publishes a periodical for members and interested institutes. The ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM is a member of the EFA (European Federation of Asthma and Allergy Associations). The ASTMAFONDS BELGIUM is not state-subsidized and the working activities are based on membership fees and gifts. A year membership costs 650 BEF.
